Very often the fear of the unknown is the greatest fear. There are many reasons for ghosts to exist. Before going into any further detail concerning them, let me help you understand what a ghost is and what an imprint is. I will also explain the difference between a spirit and a ghost.
What is a ghost?
A ghost is the spirit of either a human or animal who has physically passed from this dimension/plane of existence and now is residing in-between this plane and the spirit realm/other side. There are many reasons for someone to remain in-between the two worlds. Some ghosts do not believe that they are in fact dead, they think that they are in a dream and that if they go into the light, that they will die "for real" (in their dream.) Many have unfinished business. Examples of unfinished business would include but, not be limited to such causes as; poor handling of affairs after death, their killer still being on the loose, fear that someone close to them will be hurt if they do not stay and look after them, and many more reasons.
Another common reason for a spirit to remain as a ghost is a fear of punishment. If someone believed that they had "sinned" (real or imagined) during their life, they may be fearful of going to "hell". Several ghosts whom I have assisted in crossing over to the other side had this fear.
What is an Imprint?
An imprint is the residual effects to the energy of a location as caused by an intense often times violent and heavily emotionally charged event having taken place at one time in the locations history. Many imprints are tied to dates when the events that transpired in the past seem to repeat themselves. Those who witness such happenings often times describe the events occurring around them as if they were invisible to those who they are witnessing. First hand accounts of imprints tend to be nearly identical from one witness to the next as they are all seeing the same events unfold, but at different times and many times on the anniversary of the actual event.
Imprints cannot be interacted with as they are simply an echo or a mark upon the fabric of energy that forms our world. One who is sensitive to them should possibly avoid areas that were former battle sites, sites of disasters etc., and work on grounding themselves and using protective psychic tools.
Ghosts & Spirits may have many abilities I have personally witnessed the following:
- Lock and unlock power locks on car doors.
- Turn on and off the radio in the car.
- Turn on cell phones.
- Call on the house phone, (shows up as "No Data" on caller id)
- Thrown small objects such as nails at me.
- Crushed a sterling silver ring that I was wearing in front of several witnesses.
- Pushed me.
- Turned off a digital camera.
- Turn on the computer.
- Turn on the TV and changed channels/adjusted volume. (nearly brand new TV)
- Placed a sea shell on the wall with no adhesive.
- Briefly alter images on electronic devices such as computer monitors and tv screens.
- Appear in photographs
Each individual ghost is as unique as you and I, after all they are simply people, who are without a physical body. Many can be loving and caring, I had one ghost who brought me flowers. Well, not physical flowers, she came to me and when she appeared she was carrying them as a bouquet. When she made as though to hand them to me, I could smell gardenias.
Ghosts can be scary, if we do not know what we are dealing with. If you have the ghost of someone in your home, and you begin to give them any thought or attention, they will in many cases try even harder to get your attention. Many times the easiest thing for a ghost or spirit for that matter to communicate is, the way that they died. Often times I hear from people who have felt some of the physical sensations associated with the way the ghost in their home passed, not very settling to say the least. For example, I had a drowning victim who came to visit a friend of mine and when he came to see her in the middle of the night, she felt a presence around her and then a choking/suffocating sensation. Quite scary indeed, yet when put into context regarding who had come to visit her, it made perfect sense. Usually as soon as you acknowledge the pain that they felt, they will stop showing it to you.
Most ghosts are harmless and simply need someone to talk to. When I am called upon to look into a possible ghost, I will do my best to identify who it is that has caught your attention, why they are there and what it is that they need in order to move on. In many cases I am able to assist them in crossing over. Often times crossing them over can be done over the phone, every now and then I run into a stubborn one who may require a house call.
